3rd Annual EveryAction Nonprofit Halloween Costume Parade

Marcella Vitulli

Happy Halloween! Each year, our staff marks the occasion by dressing up as some of our favorite nonprofit organizations as a way to recognize their incredible work and the start of end-of-year fundraising push with some fun.

Tweet us your favorite nonprofit costumes at @EveryActionHQ - you could win some ghoulishly great gear!

For over a century, Audubon has worked to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity. We're proud to work with Audubon on Halloween and beyond - check out the work Audubon is doing with EveryAction throughout the year.

Black Cat Rescue

Black Cat Rescue is a no-kill cat rescue organization in Boston that strives to change those odds for black cats, who face unique obstacles when trying to get adopted. Black Cat Rescue works to improve the public image of both black cats and animal adoption by making black cat adoption a positive experience for all involved, especially around Halloween when the focus on black cats is high.

Born This Way Foundation

Launched in 2012 by music legend Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, the Born This Way Foundation develops programs that support its mission to connect young people in safe ways and empowering them with the skills and opportunities that will inspire them to create a kinder and braver world.

Children's Literacy Initiative

The Children’s Literacy Initiative (CLI) began as a way to provide collections of excellent children’s books & trainings in reading-aloud to teachers in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. Due to high demand, CLI quickly expanded, and now offers an expanded service model including recurring workshops in literacy instruction and personalized, job-embedded coaching to help educators create a lasting love of reading in their students (of books like Where the Wild Things Are!)

Star Wars: Force for Change

Star Wars creator George Lucas is famous for his charitable giving (the George Lucas Educational Foundation is actually a force behind Edutopia), but what's less known are the philanthropic efforts of the cast & crew of The Force Awakens to help nonprofits like UNICEF.

We're proud to support the work of Greenpeace, the leading independent campaigning organization that uses peaceful protest and creative communication to expose global environmental problems and to promote solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future.

The Humane Society

The Humane Society of the United States is the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection and advocacy organization. With its affiliates, the Humane Society provides hands-on care and services to more than 100,000 animals each year, and is driving transformational change in the U.S. and around the world by combating large-scale cruelties such as puppy mills, animal fighting, factory farming, and the wildlife trade.

Union of Concerned Scientists

UCS was founded by scientists and students at MIT in 1969 and began with calling for scientific research to be directed away from military technologies and toward solving pressing environmental and social problems. By mobilizing scientists and combining their voices with those of advocates, educators, business people, and other concerned citizens, UCS has built a reputation for fairness and accuracy and continues to follow the example set by the scientific community: to share information, seek the truth, and let findings guide conclusions.
